Since the 1946 filming of MGM's "This Time for Keeps," Local 38 has represented most of the technicians on film crews in the Detroit area. We’re gaffers, key grips, prop masters, costumers, set builders, painters, makeup & hair stylists, to name a few.

Michigan has attracted a host of major production companies and celebrity talent including "Gran Torino" with Clint Eastwood and Eminem's "8 Mile."
